Commercial Heat Pumps: Air, Water & Ground Source

We provide air source and water/ground source heat pumps for a wide variety of large commercial applications, leading the industry in sustainability and innovation. Our energy-efficient commercial heat pumps are backed by years of experience developing environmentally-friendly solutions for commercial buildings.

CO2 HEAT PUMPS

ACER COMMERCIAL AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMP

The 50kW-75kW Acer is low noise, small, easy to install and affordable. Using CO2 as its refrigerant, it delivers high temperatures of 70 to 80 degrees, as well as the high performance associated with CO2.

MAPLE COMMERCIAL AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMP

The Maple is a cost-effective heat pump that sits between our flagship Acer CO2 and Oak CO2 heat pumps. It won’t reach the Oak’s high temperatures but delivers superior performance up to 80C flow temperature with a smaller footprint.

SPRUCE AHU HEAT PUMP

The Spruce is a combined air handling unit and CO2 heat pump. Our AHU / HP Combo units can produce an air off of 30℃ with an airflow of 8m3. The whole range is characterised by compactness and low refrigerant charge.

PROPANE HEAT PUMPS

ELM COMMERCIAL AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMP

The Elm high temperature (HT) heat pump is part of our R290 heat pumps range, engineered as a direct replacement for traditional boilers. Available in 50kW and 70kW models, it delivers up to 80°C flow temperature with 70°C return while achieving 100% heat decarbonisation without changes to your building.

BIRCH COMMERCIAL AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMP

The Birch heat pump is part of our R290 range, fitting easily into existing systems to provide hot water up to 60°C. Ideal for quiet areas, Birch standard low-noise models are the quietest and most affordable options.

ROWAN COMMERCIAL AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMP

The Rowan is part of our range of R290 heat pumps, offering an affordable, low carbon solution with superb heat service. Compact and easy to install, our Rowan range goes up to 375KW at -5C ambient.

LARCH COMMERCIAL AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMP

The Larch cascade heat pump is a combination of our R290 air source heat pump and R600a water source heat pump. This system closely matches a traditional boiler system’s flow and return temperatures of 82⁰C / 71⁰C.

Why Use Clade's Commercial Heat Pumps?

Clade’s commercial heat pumps are designed for businesses looking for efficient, reliable and sustainable heating. Manufactured in the UK, our heat pumps use natural refrigerants like CO2 and R290 propane, reducing carbon emissions while maintaining strong performance. Our Acer, Maple and Elm models deliver high temperatures up to 80°C, integrating smoothly with both new and existing heating systems.

Scalable for commercial spaces of any size, to large industrial sites, Clade’s commercial heat pumps provide a cost-effective, future-proof alternative to traditional heating. Providing long-term energy-efficiency and full support from our team, they help businesses cut costs and achieve their renewable energy goals.

What are the Benefits of Heat Pumps for Commercial Buildings?

Installing a heat pump in your commercial building will give you lots of advantages – ranging from cost benefits to efficiency and reliability. Our commercial heat pumps are also compatible with a Building Management System (BMS) and have several funding options.

Lower energy bills
Air source heat pumps are three or four times more efficient than gas boilers and use just a small amount of electricity – allowing you to keep your energy bills down. Electrification of heat by using a heat pump also opens up the opportunity to use power at times when it’s cheap, known as grid flexibility.

Reliable source of heat and hot water
We can design a modular heat pump system for your business, configured to ensure your commercial building receives heating at all times. Air source heat pumps have few system failures, which means a smaller impact on your business operations.

Integrates with BMS
We can utilise a BMS to deliver heating to several parts of a building with our heat pumps. At Clade, we design a modular configuration that meets your commercial building’s heating needs and is easy to operate.

Minimal workflow disruption
Retrofitting your new system doesn’t have to be disruptive. Air source heat pumps are the easiest type to install. Typically, we can keep your old boilers working through most of the installation period and only disconnect them at the very last minute.

Environmentally friendly
Heat pumps are sustainable and don’t produce emissions – making them an eco-friendly way to heat your commercial building. Making the switch can also demonstrate your commitment to the environment to your customers and shareholders.

Futureproof
With decarbonisation moving up the government’s priority list, switching to a commercial heat pump can prevent your heating system from becoming a stranded asset in the near future. Heat pumps also typically last double the lifespan of gas boilers, making them a futureproof investment.

Chance to diversify
Successful businesses look for diversification opportunities, and our heat pumps can help you get there. If you have a new vision for your business, such as delivering heat for an offshoot venture, we’ll help you make it happen.

Options for funding
We’ll advise you on which commercial heat pump is the best for your business and building, and discuss funding options with you.

At Clade, we take the time to get to know your building and project type intimately before providing advice.

FAQ's About Commercial Heat pumps

Yes, they are a highly energy-efficient and cost-effective solution for heating and cooling. They are ideal for a wide range of commercial applications, from offices and retail spaces to industrial facilities.

The cost of a commercial heat pump depends on several factors, including the size of the building, the required capacity, and the type of system. For a tailored quote, contact our team to assess your needs and determine the most suitable solution.

Heat pumps offer a sustainable way to meet the UK’s net-zero carbon targets. With government regulations increasingly favouring renewable technologies, heat pumps provide an excellent opportunity to reduce carbon emissions, cut energy costs, and future-proof your business against environmental compliance requirements. They are especially impactful in reducing emissions from space and water heating, which account for a significant proportion of energy use in commercial buildings.

A commercial heat pump is designed to handle the higher heating and cooling demands of large buildings, such as offices, factories, or retail spaces. While they work similarly to domestic heat pumps, commercial units have greater capacity, durability, and efficiency to support large-scale operations.

Commercial heat pumps offer higher output, are more robust, and include advanced features to handle complex systems and larger spaces, unlike domestic models designed for single households.

Yes, modern heat pumps are designed to operate efficiently even in cold weather. Air source heat pumps, for instance, can perform in temperatures as low as -25°C, making them well-suited to the UK climate. Their reliability ensures year-round performance.

Energy Efficiency: Reduce operational costs by using renewable energy sources.
Sustainability: Significantly lower your carbon footprint and meet sustainability goals.
Compliance: Stay ahead of UK government requirements for renewable heating solutions in new builds and refurbishments.
Future-Proofing: Protect your business from rising energy costs and stricter environmental regulations.

Yes, heat pumps can often be retrofitted into existing systems with minimal disruption. Our team of experts will assess your building to design a solution that integrates seamlessly with your current setup.

With proper maintenance, a high-quality commercial heat pump can last 15–20 years or more. Regular servicing is key to ensuring optimal performance and longevity.

Yes, many commercial heat pumps are designed to provide both heating and cooling. They offer an all-in-one solution for maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures year-round.
