OUR POSITIONS

Project Manager

Location: Flexible

Reporting into our Projects Operations Manager, we are looking to expand our Projects department due to growth with two new roles.

Key responsibilities:

  • ‘Cradle to grave’ approach to the project management of refrigeration installation schemes within the food retail sector.
  • All projects must be delivered on time, within scope, budget and to a high standard.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Survey sites and create scoping documents based on client specification, preferences and good refrigeration practices.
  • Create programmes, phasing plans or other requirements as determined by the project needs, constraints and responsibilities to meet all of the customer’s requirements.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, such as H&S files, programmes, labour request forms and O&Ms.
  • Create and submit pricing documents for each allocated project using a mixture of client and internal schedules where necessary.
  • Take financial responsibility for each scheme including cost tracking and profit forecasting.
  • Work closely with the Clade Installations Manager to select site resource at the correct rates, skillset and levels of experience.
  • Order all materials required for each project based on the designs provided, scope of works and client specification.
  • Visit each live project site on a regular basis and communicate daily with the customer, principal contractor and internal teams.
  • Manage your own time effectively and productively whilst meeting the project requirements and never letting the customer down.
  • Capture all project variations throughout and communicate these appropriately.
  • Identify cost saving options at every opportunity whilst maintaining quality and the specification requirements.
  • Provide the Clade Projects Operations Manager with regular reports and updates on project progress (minimum weekly).

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in food retail project management.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration is essential.
  • Experience in planning, programming, procurement, and project delivery.
  • Excellent organisation, forward thinking and planning skills are essential.
  • Ability to solve problems and cope well under pressure.
  • Leadership skills and business acumen.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of customer service at all times.
  • Positive and enthusiastic approach.
  • Good time management and general proactive behaviour.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.

Electrical Manufacturing Fitter

Location: Leeds

We are currently looking to employ electrical fitters to carry out the installation of electrical components as well as the wiring of control panels to refrigeration plant, heat pumps, products and sub-assemblies. The role requires skills in the assemble or wiring electrical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line in our manufacturing facility. Experience in a similar role is preferred along with applicable electrical qualifications.

Manufacturing Operative

Location: Leeds

This role involves assembling and manufacturing goods and products within Clade predominantly but not limited to Heat Pumps, refrigeration plant and chillers or parts associated to the equipment.

You will be required to assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line in our manufacturing facility whilst reporting to the Team Leader.

Duties include:

  • Read, interpret and follow design, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
  • Follow instruction from Supervisors and leadership team relating to allocated works and Health & Safety.
  • Utilise handheld tools safely as well as the use and safe operation of electrical equipment where trained and / or qualified.
  • Performing brazing (where qualified to), in line with safe working practises.
  • Maintain inventory of product in workstations – follow allocated works and job packs and complete on time as instructed. Ensure Team Leader and Production Coordinator is informed upon completion.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards prior to office QA check by the Technical Support Engineer or Team Leader.
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation or report when defects are identified.
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes or instruction given.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.

Heat Pump Aftercare Engineer

Location: Leeds/Manchester/M62 Corridor (Remote role)

Are you a Refrigeration Service or Commissioning Engineer looking for a change of role? We are looking to recruit another Heat Pump Aftercare Engineer to join our growing team working on CO2 & Hydrocarbon Heat Pumps. The right candidate will be flexible and willing to work at various site locations around Leeds/Manchester/M62 Corridor.

The ideal candidate will have refrigeration commissioning experience / strong service background using natural refrigerants and the latest controls for heat pumps and refrigeration plant. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate technical knowledge to achieve successful diagnosis of faults. Full in house training will be given for all new products. A good attitude to work is essential within the refrigeration industry and a keen interest to learn and understand heat pumps under the guidance of our technical team. The role may require occasional overnight stays and/or weekend work therefore flexibility is needed.

Commissioning Engineer

Location: Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham regions

Competitive rates of pay.

You will work principally in the region close to your home base however occasionally will also be required to work across the UK to cover holiday periods and at times of high demand.

Our Projects department is recruiting for another skilled Refrigeration Commissioning Engineer to join the growing team and assist with the commissioning of refrigeration plant, water chillers, pump stations and heat pumps. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact supporting our projects installation team by ensuring the commissioning of site based complex refrigeration systems across the UK.

Ideally you will have refrigeration commissioning experience gained within the food retail sector, using natural refrigerants and the latest controls for refrigeration plant.  The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the safe management of pressure testing and have an eye for quality.

Qualifications or recent experience and knowledge of working with most types of commercial or light industrial plant products will be helpful but not essential.

  • This is a site based commissioning role working on predominantly supermarket refrigeration systems and heat pumps.
  • The role will include the setup, testing, checking and fault finding of new and existing refrigeration plant and systems on new and existing food retail sites.
  • In addition to food retail, there will be opportunities to work on refrigeration systems in other related fields such as industrial sites.
  • There will be opportunities to work on the very latest in refrigeration technology, specifically brand new equipment from the UK and overseas.
  • The role reports to the Clade Commissioning Supervisor whilst working closely with the National Installations Manager and fellow Clade Commissioning Engineers.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Morley, Leeds/Home

Purpose of your role: 

As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer the role is a key appointment within the mechanical and electrical building services consultancy design team at Clade. The role requires a senior level engineer to help lead the mechanical engineering activities, providing detailed design engineering as well as working closely with the sales/estimating team to provide concept designs, estimates and budgets to a variety of projects. This role is suited to an engineer with good experience of low temperature hot water heating design and can accurately design both new heating networks and integrate new plant into existing systems. A key part of the role is the ability to lead and assist other members of the design team. In addition to main design duties this role enjoys a close working relationship with live engineering projects and installations. The candidate will need to support the site operations team and be able to make informed decisions on all mechanical matters. The role will suit somebody who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, working with multiple disciplines, new technologies and new concepts from stage 2 right through to project hand over stage 6.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Review enquiries with the Projects Team and agree feasibility to full concept designs for all mechanical systems.
  • Survey sites to assess existing building services systems and provide concepts and comment on client requirements.
  • Provide concept designs and costings and assist in tender preparation including specification writing.
  • Development of initial feasibility designs to full detailed design on successful projects – taking the lead of the mechanical and electrical design team as required.
  • Calculate HVAC loads, electrical consumption, flow rates, pipe sizes etc.
  • Have a solid understanding of controls to be able to liaise with the controls engineers to agree a control philosophy and assist creation of descriptions of operation.
  • Responsible for leading mechanical and electrical designs to agreed project budgets and ensuring all team members take financial responsibility in design.
  • Assist in the preparation of equipment schedules, equipment selections, and supplier’s quotations as requested.

 

  • Ensure comprehensive design and specification packages are handed over to the Projects Team.
  • Attend project meetings internally and with clients as required.
  • Assist in the resolution of problems and issues on site as they occur.
  • Prepare documentation for the Operation and Maintenance manual, obtaining copies of warranties, certificates and “as fitted” drawings as necessary.
  • Support the customer post installation and answer queries.
  • Post Project Evaluation of Key Lessons Learnt.
  • Attend scoping and design meetings, and other meetings as required, to provide project and enquiry updates.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience using industry standard software packages such as CAD, Hevacomp and IES etc
  • A solid understanding in mechanical engineering and building services as a whole
  • Minimum of Degree qualified within Building Services, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards with professional body registration.
  • Strong technical experience essential.
  • Full driving licence is essential.

Administration Assistant - Projects Team

Location: Morley, Leeds

Purpose of your role: 

We are looking for Administration support for our Projects team prioritising customer requirements predominantly within the retail refrigeration sector. This role is a pivotal part of a supportive team working closely with our field based colleagues.  It will offer the right candidate the opportunity to grow and develop within Clade.  So if you have at least 12 months experience in an office environment with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft we look forward to seeing your application.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Printing all Health and Safety Files and Operations and Maintenance Manuals
  • Prepare and print site files
  • Printing of all Design Drawings and other ad-hoc requests including laminating
  • Liaising with team of Project Managers and Wider Projects Team to ensure deadlines are met
  • Following up on outstanding Tasks and Documents to assist Compliance and Administration Manager in completing O&M Manuals for Clients
  • Stationary and equipment ordering and monitoring of existing equipment
  • New starter administration
  • Travel and Accommodation booking for projects team
  • Maintain and create project folders on One Drive to ISO standard. Ensure folders are kept tidy and contain relevant documents.
