Electrical Manufacturing Fitter

Location: Leeds

We are currently looking to employ electrical fitters to carry out the installation of electrical components as well as the wiring of control panels to refrigeration plant, heat pumps, products and sub-assemblies. The role requires skills in the assemble or wiring electrical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line in our manufacturing facility. Experience in a similar role is preferred along with applicable electrical qualifications.

Manufacturing Operative

Location: Leeds

This role involves assembling and manufacturing goods and products within Clade predominantly but not limited to Heat Pumps, refrigeration plant and chillers or parts associated to the equipment.

You will be required to assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in a specific area of a production line in our manufacturing facility whilst reporting to the Team Leader.

Duties include:

  • Read, interpret and follow design, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products.
  • Follow instruction from Supervisors and leadership team relating to allocated works and Health & Safety.
  • Utilise handheld tools safely as well as the use and safe operation of electrical equipment where trained and / or qualified.
  • Performing brazing (where qualified to), in line with safe working practises.
  • Maintain inventory of product in workstations – follow allocated works and job packs and complete on time as instructed. Ensure Team Leader and Production Coordinator is informed upon completion.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards prior to office QA check by the Technical Support Engineer or Team Leader.
  • Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation or report when defects are identified.
  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes or instruction given.
  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.

Heat Pump Aftercare Engineer

Location: Midlands and South (Remote role)

Are you a Refrigeration Service or Commissioning Engineer looking for a change of role? We are looking to recruit another Heat Pump Aftercare Engineer to join our growing team working on CO2 & Hydrocarbon Heat Pumps. The right candidate will be flexible and willing to work at various site locations Coventry, Northampton, Milton Keynes, Bedford, Cambridge, and Luton region.

The ideal candidate will have refrigeration commissioning experience / strong service background using natural refrigerants and the latest controls for heat pumps and refrigeration plant. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate technical knowledge to achieve successful diagnosis of faults. Full in house training will be given for all new products. A good attitude to work is essential within the refrigeration industry and a keen interest to learn and understand heat pumps under the guidance of our technical team. The role may require occasional overnight stays and/or weekend work therefore flexibility is needed.

Commissioning Engineer

Location: Leeds, Manchester and Birmingham regions

Competitive rates of pay.

You will work principally in the region close to your home base however occasionally will also be required to work across the UK to cover holiday periods and at times of high demand.

Our Projects department is recruiting for another skilled Refrigeration Commissioning Engineer to join the growing team and assist with the commissioning of refrigeration plant, water chillers, pump stations and heat pumps. This is a great opportunity to make a real impact supporting our projects installation team by ensuring the commissioning of site based complex refrigeration systems across the UK.

Ideally you will have refrigeration commissioning experience gained within the food retail sector, using natural refrigerants and the latest controls for refrigeration plant.  The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the safe management of pressure testing and have an eye for quality.

Qualifications or recent experience and knowledge of working with most types of commercial or light industrial plant products will be helpful but not essential.

  • This is a site based commissioning role working on predominantly supermarket refrigeration systems and heat pumps.
  • The role will include the setup, testing, checking and fault finding of new and existing refrigeration plant and systems on new and existing food retail sites.
  • In addition to food retail, there will be opportunities to work on refrigeration systems in other related fields such as industrial sites.
  • There will be opportunities to work on the very latest in refrigeration technology, specifically brand new equipment from the UK and overseas.
  • The role reports to the Clade Commissioning Supervisor whilst working closely with the National Installations Manager and fellow Clade Commissioning Engineers.

Water Chiller Engineer

Location: Birmingham and surrounding area

Main Purpose and Scope of the job

Purpose of your role:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Water Chiller Commissioning Engineer to join our dynamic team in the UK. We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Water Chiller Commissioning Engineer with extensive knowledge in refrigeration systems and water/flow rates. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of water chiller systems to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively. This role requires a hands-on approach, strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Conduct commissioning, testing and start-up of water chiller systems in various applications.
  • Perform detailed inspections and assessments of refrigeration and water flow systems to ensure compliance with design specifications and operational requirements.
  • Calibrate and adjust system controls, including temperature, pressure and flow rates, to optimise performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to refrigeration cycles, water flow rates and system performance.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients and end-users on the operation and maintenance of water chiller systems.

  • Experience on working with Co2 and hydrocarbon refrigerants is a requirement.

Commissioning Engineer (Water)

Location: Leeds area and Birmingham area

Main Purpose and Scope of the job

Purpose of your role:

A LTHW (Low Temperature Hot Water) Commissioning Engineer is responsible for managing and overseeing the commissioning process of low temperature hot water systems. The role involves collaborating with design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure that the installation, testing, and balancing of LTHW systems meet specifications and requirements. Key responsibilities include conducting system inspections, performing functional testing, troubleshooting issues, documenting results, and providing technical support during the commissioning phase. The role will be working closely with Clade’s heat pump Commissioning Engineers and learning heat pump set up also. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in mechanical engineering, HVAC systems, and building services, with experience in commissioning and startup activities. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the Clade commissioning process for LTHW systems.
  • Support setup of Clade heat pumps in conjunction with fluid system tests and checks.
  • Collaborate with design teams to receive the relevant design specification and set points which a system should be commissioned to.
  • Ensure the installation, testing and balancing of LTHW systems meet specifications and requirements, and where it doesn’t, provide feedback on potential resolutions.
  • Survey sites to assess existing building services systems and comment on client requirements.
  • Have a solid understanding of controls to be able to liaise with the controls engineers to agree a control philosophy.
  • Assist in the resolution of problems and issues on site as they occur either during install or as part of our After Care package.
  • Support the customer post installation and answer queries.

Technical Manager - Heat Pumps

Location: Leeds

Main Purpose and Scope of the job

Purpose of your role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join as an important technical leader of a growing UK heat pump business which has attracted significant investment and is now part of a wider heating products group which includes known brands such as Hamworthy and Ideal Boilers.

Reporting directly to the CTO, the Heat Pump Technical Manager will operate across the business as a technical lead for heat pump products, bringing together information from internal teams to manage the successful application, commissioning, and handover of heat pumps to clients, contractors, and installers. You will work closely with engineering and commissioning departments taking a leading, client facing role with installers and contractors on technical matters.

As a business committed to decarbonisation and the environment, Clade only engineer, design and manufacture products using natural refrigerants. We are the UK’s leading manufacturer of commercial CO2 and Propane heat pumps.

Recent investment and growth means we are looking for an experienced technical manager to be the lead technical resource for internal teams and clients/users. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth installation, commissioning, and handover of heat pump products.  You will be a main point of contact for Clade commissioning teams as well as external installers and contractors for all technical issues. You will work closely with the engineering, commissioning and aftercare teams to ensure installed products are operating correctly helping the business to meet the demands of the market and our customers.

This role is best suited to someone familiar with commercial heating applications and products with a good understanding of heat systems and controls/description of operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acting as the main point of contact to provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of heat pump solutions. Working closely with different product engineers, designers, commissioning engineers and control specialists.
  • Work with project managers to co-ordinate work-in-progress checks, post-installation inspections and audits to maintain quality product application. Producing reports and feedback to clients and installers to ensure systems are installed to correct designs and requirements.
  • Organise and deliver internal and external training courses to upskill others on Clade heat pump products, operation, and application.
  • Collaborate with the research and development team to drive innovation and product improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience with air source heat pump design and installation.
  • Problem solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • A solid understanding of LTHW systems and design.
  • Experience and understanding of control methodologies for heat pump plant.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to liaise with employees at all levels, customers and clients.
  • Minimum of Degree qualified within Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Strong technical experience essential.
  • Experience or knowledge of control platforms, PLC’s is an advantage but not essential.

Administration Assistant

Location: Leeds

Main Purpose and Scope of the job

This role provides dedicated administration support to our Production Systems Coordinator, Manufacturing Director and Senior Team within our Manufacturing facility in Morley, Leeds.  You will work proactively to anticipate needs while exceeding targets and expectations prioritising customer requirements. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ordering and managing of consumables and office supplies as required by the team.
  • Electronic generation of O&M manuals (support provided by the Commissioning Team).
  • Booking overnight accommodation for the plant team as needed.
  • Managing Supplier & Subcontractor PQQ for the plant team.
  • Assisting with Compliance ensuring all relevant process and policies are adhered to (support to be provided by the central Compliance Manager).
  • Raising of Purchase orders and processing all invoice queries.
  • Tracking of supplier deliveries & approvals of all goods exceeding £5k.
  • Update bin locations or product codes as required.
  • Support stores when required by helping to maintain, create and update work orders and bill of materials (BOM).
  • Filing of project paperwork (electronic).
  • General admin duties including but not limited to answering phones, door, greeting visitors.

Senior Project Manager

Location: Birmingham (travel required)

Main Purpose and Scope of the job

To lead and support the delivery of allocated projects in line with our customers specifications following Clade processes and procedures both individually and via management of a small team.

As part of the senior team within Projects, this role will include being key point of contact for several of Clade’s project customers ensuring effective communication and completion of tasks and problem solving.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that all projects are proactively managed and delivered on-time, within scope and within budget in conjunction with the customers needs.
  • Ownership of all financial aspects of allocated projects including labour and materials.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Primary contact for Clade’s key project customers including general communication and escalations.
  • Liaising & chief communicator between Clade’s customers, installation/delivery teams and After Care team.
  • Take responsibility for financial aspects including cost documents (SORs, SQTs) of the key customer accounts, working closely with Clade Operations Manager, Costing Managers and Installation Manager.

CAD Technician

Location: Leeds

Main Purpose and Scope of the job

We are looking for an experienced CAD Technician to join our design team on a permanent basis, based in our Leeds office.

As a CAD Technician you will work alongside our design team to deliver accurate high-quality auto-cad drawings packages in line with company and customer standards, while working closely to agreed company protocols. Revit experience would be welcome but not essential and we are willing to train. Drawing experience in retail and/or building services would be preferable but not essential. This position will suit someone who wants to take on new challenges and develop themselves in the delivery of exciting projects and is looking to progress in their career.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Model MEP services on various projects using AutoCAD and possibly Revit.
  • Set up and utilise company templates.
  • Work using central files and manage collaborative models.
  • Liaise closely with the engineering teams to deliver accurate 3D models and 2D drawings.
  • Coordinate drawing production in line with agreed project requirements and time scales in conjunction with all other disciplines, while delivering to agreed programme.
  • Liaise with the external teams relating to model exchange, clash detection/resolution, and general queries, etc.
  • Carry out regular clash detection and resolution.

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • Working knowledge of Revit advantageous but not essential (training on Revit will be provided).
  • Experience working in building services environment across different sectors and disciplines.
  • Good knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical & Engineering terminology.
  • Working knowledge of retail layouts would be welcome but not essential.

Product Engineering Manager

Product Engineering Manager – Heat Pumps and Refrigeration

Location: Leeds/Home

Main Purpose and Scope of the job

Reporting directly to the CTO, the Product Engineering Manager will lead the design and engineering of our commercial heat pumps, retail and industrial refrigeration products. As a business committed to decarbonisation and the environment, Clade only engineer, design and manufacture products using natural refrigerants. We are the UK’s leading manufacturer of commercial CO2 and Propane heat pumps.

Recent investment and growth means we are looking for an experienced refrigeration/mechanical engineer to lead our product engineering team. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the product design team, from refrigeration engineering, product 3D modelling to electrical and controls engineering.

This role is best suited to someone familiar with industrial/commercial refrigeration or heat pump product design and engineering experience. You will be responsible for checking the design and selection of equipment and managing the regulatory requirements such as PED and other European standards. You will be working closely with the CTO and engineering team to continually develop and improve existing products as well as researching and developing the new products ranges to take the business forward to meet the demands of the market and our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and lead conception, execution and launch of engineering products.
  • Manage communication and coordination among different engineers, designers and control specialists working on a product.
  • Provide input into the creation of product roadmaps.
  • Help develop product focused materials for sales & customer service (sales tools, installation manuals, training), working closely with Marketing and product commissioning engineers.
  • Help oversee and manage regulatory requirements for product range, help leading in house and external product testing for declaration of conformity purposes.
  • Lead and manage product value engineering and continual improvement development.
  • Lead efforts to maintain awareness of and champion on-going sustained competitive product differentiation.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience designing and engineering commercial and/or industrial refrigeration or heat pump products.
  • A solid understanding in refrigeration, thermodynamics, and heat transfer.
  • Experience and understanding of control methodologies for refrigeration/heat pump plant.
  • Experience using industry standard software packages such as CAD, Micropipe and Microcalc, Compressor, Plate Heater and valve selection software etc.
  • Minimum of Degree qualified within Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards with professional body registration.
  • Strong technical experience essential.
  • Experience or knowledge of control platforms, PLC’s is an advantage but not essential.
  • Full clean driving licence.
