CO2 REFRIGERATION
Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is a naturally occurring substance that is produced by most living organisms during respiration and is absorbed by plants. It can also be used as a refrigerant (technically known as R744) and is quickly becoming the refrigerant of choice for food retail, agricultural and light industrial refrigeration installations. With a GWP of 1, this environmentally friendly, non-flammable refrigerant has excellent heat transfer properties, which make it the ideal solution for various applications. CO2 is a proven refrigeration solution, providing the end user with a future-proofed installation, helping them to achieve environmental targets linked to the Kigali amendment to the Montreal Protocol and the F-Gas regulations.

CO2 is considered an environmentally friendly gas, with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 1. It is a natural refrigerant because it is not manufactured in a chemical plant. Using Clade’s refrigeration systems can, therefore, help you reduce your carbon footprint significantly.

We use CO2 refrigerant in all of our refrigeration systems, and CO2 is considered an eco-friendly gas because of its low Global Warming Potential (GWP). It is non-flammable and has low toxicity levels, so it’s considered a high-safety refrigerant. Additionally, it’s an effective refrigerant with excellent thermo-physical properties and a higher volumetric capacity than conventional refrigerants.
