Celebrating Success at the 2019 RAC Cooling Awards

A1 Engineering Solutions has won the first ever Diversity Impact Award and was praised by the judges, “We were impressed by this winner’s holistic approach to diversity and inclusion. They have gone out of their way to create an inspirational environment that they should be very proud of”

The results of the RAC Cooling Industry Awards were revealed on 25th September at the esteemed London Hilton Park Lane Hotel where almost 500 of the refrigeration and air conditioning industry elite came together for a night of recognition and celebration of the sector’s achievements. Now in its 15th year, the RAC Cooling Awards are widely considered the most authoritative awards in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.

The category of Diversity Impact was introduced to the RAC Cooling Awards for the first time in 2019 and A1 were recognised for our inclusive, respectful and empowering approach to recruitment and indeed our current team members.  We have developed a greater cultural awareness and understanding whilst introducing new skills to our business.  We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to stand out and with help, understanding and training. We have achieved our aim to improve our companies ethnic diversity employing people from Afghanistan through to Zimbabwe, and have concentrated on the promotion of women in industry and engineering.  Our attitude towards Mental Health First Aid was much welcomed and appreciated by the judges, who commented that we should be proud of what we have achieved over the past 18 months. 

RAC Contractor of the Year

A1 Engineering Solutions also came a close second place in this category, an award which we have won previously. This is a great achievement and one which we are celebrating, however we congratulate the worthy winners.
