Retail Cascade Heat Pump Case Study
This system was developed as a hybrid of Clade’s standard heat pumps to take advantage of rejected heat from process fluid systems or the refrigeration in the store.
Running over a 96 day period the heat pumps produced 149468KWhs of thermal energy and consumed 78,655KWhrs of power. Giving a total system COP of 1.9 for the winter months.
A good result for a cascade system.
Using the site power and gas prices this equates to an annual saving of approximately £19,588. On a zero carbon tariff the carbon savings would be approximately 27.9tons annually.
