Northumberland University
Clade has delivered a full design, manufacture and installation of an Air Source Heat Pump heating system for Equans and Northumbria University.
Two buildings on the University’s campus have received the new heating systems that will warm the lecture theatres, offices, cafes and other
facilities within the buildings found in the heart of Newcastle City Centre, which are home to Newcastle Business School, Northumbria Law School and Northumbria School of Design.
By removing gas from the heating system and replacing with green electricity the heating system is completely decarbonised building on the
Universities achievement of a 58% reduction in the last 5 years.
Clade supplied two 150KW and three 200KW r290 (propane) air source heat pumps. Operating at 60⁰C flow temperatures and with a design return
of 40⁰C a SCOP of over 3.0 is expected.
The Clade Engineering team undertook the full design to stage 5 and managed the project delivery to a successful outcome.
We will support the heat pumps with our Aftercare services and monitor them for performance, making controls changes where necessary to
improve efficiency as the seasons change.
